“Fire is a good Servant but a bad Master”
So goes the saying, but it is a truthful statement.
Fire is a result of the combustion of a substance with oxygen at a given temperature (flash point) producing significant rise in temperature which might lead to destruction.
There is always the risk of destruction with fire but we can tame this destructive master into a very faithful servant with intelligent and proper management, thus preventing deaths of living beings and the incineration of everything.
Alpex History
‘Alpex’, the brand name synonymous with fire protection in Sri Lanka was coined with its founder’s name Mr. Alex Perera.
Alpex Engineering & Trading Company was formed in 1961 with the sole intention of providing fire protection solutions to the local market. As the pioneers and the only product and service provider in the market we manufactured Portable and Mobile Fire Extinguishers with an unmatched warranty of 05 and 10 years for the Body.
Carbon Dioxide (CO2) Fire Extinguishers were imported as the cylinders are made of die cast steel and the technology was unavailable to manufacture locally.
We have been the No. 1 Fire Protection Service Provider in Sri Lanka.
A subsidiary company by the name “Siol” was also formed that supplied certain rubber and metal components for “Alpex” fire extinguishers.
Alpex Engineering & Trading Company changed hands with Mr D.J. Samaratunga in 1989. In order to manage the business affairs of “Alpex Engineering & Trading Company”, Mr & Mrs Samaratunga formed a Partnership Company by the name “Alpex Management Company”. Following the demise of Mr & Mrs Samaratunga the business is now managed by Mr Dammika Wijayaratne who is functioning as the CEO / Managing Partner.
